A clear response to Chrome’s reversal—and why first-party measurement remains essential across browsers, platforms and customer journeys.

The reversal did not restore a simple past
Google changed its approach to third-party cookie choice in Chrome, while other browsers and privacy settings continue to restrict cross-site tracking. Platform rules and consent expectations also continue to evolve.
A measurement strategy built on one browser mechanism remains fragile regardless of a single policy reversal.
Build durable first-party signals
Collect only the data the customer expects, explain its use and connect campaign identifiers with consented CRM outcomes. Enhanced conversions, offline imports and server-side APIs can reduce gaps when implemented responsibly.
Define common lifecycle stages so media, analytics and sales teams agree on what a qualified conversion means.
Audit the dependencies
List every pixel, tag, audience and report that relies on third-party context. Test browsers separately, verify consent behaviour and document which decisions remain possible when data is incomplete.
